Farmington Custom Home
In 2008, The Salvaggio Group was contacted to help provide direction in this unique project. The clients resided in an upscale Germantown home on a large property. They were interested in downsizing footage and land, however did not want to compromise on amenities. The second challenge was to locate a lot near the "Center City" area slated for "Smart Growth". An existing home on Farmington Blvd was found, purchased and demolishied. HVAC equipment, water heater, copper, cast iron, cabinets, appliances, fixtures, tubs, windows and more were carefully removed donated to Habitat for Humanity in an effort to Recycle and Reuse. Local Architect Lavelle Walker was commissioned to design the new home and incorporate features from the clients existing home as well as new features to fit their lifestyle. The result is European inspired home with equisite detailing. The clients leaned on The Salvaggio Group to design secondary features such as the cobblestone drive, European "squish" joint brick wall and custom crafted solid Cherry wood gates to tie the grounds into the structure.
The interior build reflects an open floor plan where modern layout meets old world style. Wolf© and Subzero© appliances were used to bring the kitchen up to commercial standard while the floor reflects the past. The client specified authentic, hand-made Mexican Tile for the majority of the flooring in different complementing design patterns. The Salvaggio Group went directly to the source in Saltillo, Mexico where its been done by the same family since the 1570’s. The result was a magnificant blend of patterns that lend texture and warmth from the foyer throughout. Another blend of old meeting new was the incorporation of antique family furniture being modified to serve as vanities. The Salvaggio Group modified the antiques in their wood-shop and installed them as working pieces.
The Salvaggio Group is proud have this beautiful home in our portfolio.
